Just like marketing in the offline world, the returns from internet marketing will depend on the investment, either time or money, you're prepared to make. However, the returns can be much greater through online marketing, largely because of the global reach of a website.
You will see almost instant results with pay per click advertising, however, in the long term, pay per click advertising can prove to be very expensive. Natural or organic optimisation, where you would expect to see your website listed in the main body of search results, can, and usually does, take a lot longer.
Many internet marketing companies offer packages which guarantee top ten results in 7 days. I don't. These kind of results are not sustainable in the long term, and may do your website significant harm, making it impossible to market in the long term. If you want quick results, use pay per click advertising.
